Sergio Muñiz Castrillo, MD PhD
My main research topic was immunogenetics in autoimmune encephalitis and paraneoplastic neurological syndromes. I conducted several studies investigating whether these disorders were linked to human leukocyte antigen (HLA), as well as the associations between HLA and clinical and immunological features. This work constituted my PhD thesis. Additionally, I conducted or participated in other studies addressing clinical aspects, antibody detection, or immune check-point inhibitors complications, among others. I was also involved in the clinical and laboratory activities of the Reference Center.
The time I spent in Lyon has been incredibly important to me both professionally and personally. I had the opportunity to develop a scientific career in a motivating, friendly, and supportive environment.
