I had the opportunity to travel to France to join Team Honnorat for three months during the summer of 2023. As an intern, I performed cell-based assays on patients with anti-GAD65 antibodies, with a focus on XRN2 as a possible autoantibody target and diagnostic biomarker for neurological autoimmune diseases. I enjoyed discovering the research being conducted at the intersection of neuroscience and immunology, and I had a pleasant time interacting with other lab members, which enhanced my first experience with scientific research in a global context. I look forward to incorporating international collaboration as part of my future career.
