Álvaro Sánchez-Guijo
I am a fourth year Neurology resident at Hospital Regional Universitario de Málaga, Spain. Ever since I was a Secondary student, I have always been attracted by the field of biomedical research. As I dived deeper into the world of Neurology, I grew an interest in Neuroimmunology and I noticed that I missed the chance to take part in research aside from my usual clinical activity. Therefore, I decided to apply for an attachment at the French Reference Centre of Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes and Autoimmune Encephalitis.
I feel truly happy about having received the opportunity to come here and about the kind welcome I received. Everyone is always open to help you and I find it easy and comfortable to work and learn within this team.
My current research labour consists of assessing all the patients diagnosed of paraneoplastic neurological syndromes associated with anti-Kelch-like protein 11 antibodies in this centre.
