Romana Höftberger
Romana Höftberger, MD was an associate professor at the Institute of Neurology, Medical University of Vienna until 2019 and just became the Head of the Department of Neuropathology and Neurochemistry, Department of Neurology.
Her main interest is on the characterization of autoimmune diseases targeting CNS proteins. Her research, focuses on elucidating the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the immune-mediated tissue injury in demyelinating CNS diseases, anti-neuronal autoimmune encephalitis, PNS disease and myasthenia gravis. Her team also works on the search for novel targets antigen and the develoment/improvment of diagnostic tests.
